Kiosk mode

A touch kiosk that answers the questions asked at the desk

The MyInfoMate kiosk turns a tablet into an information point: a map of your venue or city, a live events agenda, visitor trails. It is a dedicated app, managed from the same back-office as your mobile app — and included from the Pro plan.

What a kiosk changes at the front desk

It absorbs the repetitive questions

Opening hours, the map, this weekend's events, directions: the kiosk answers while your team handles the requests that deserve a conversation.

sync

One content set, two channels

The kiosk and the mobile app show the same content, managed in the same place. You publish once and everything follows — no double entry.

accessibility_new

Open to those who install nothing

Not every visitor wants to download an app, or owns a recent smartphone. The kiosk gives them the same access, with no account and no install.

A managed kiosk, not a tablet showing a website

In a public venue, a kiosk has to run all day without anyone looking after it. That is what sets it apart from a browser left open on a tablet.

fullscreen

Full screen, automatic start

The kiosk starts on its own on your visit and stays full screen: visitors never land on a tablet's home screen.

download_done

Content stored locally

Content is kept on the device: the kiosk stays fast and keeps working when the network weakens.

restart_alt

Recovery after an outage

After a power or network cut, the kiosk returns to the visit by itself, with no action from your team.

slideshow

Attract screen included

Between visitors, the kiosk comes alive with your images, videos, calendar and announcements — catching the eye instead of sleeping.

Visit Namur, kiosks in service since 2024

The Namur tourism office deployed XXL touch kiosks: a city map with geolocated points of interest, an events agenda kept up to date by the team, and itinerary planning. The project was awarded following a published call for tenders.

Kiosk mode FAQ

Do we need specific hardware?

expand_more

The kiosk app installs on standard Android tablets — the ones you already have, or the ones you choose. For a large welcome screen like at Visit Namur, let's discuss hardware before deployment: it is the one point that needs an upfront decision.

Is the content the same as on the mobile app?

expand_more

Yes, that is the whole point: a single back-office feeds the kiosk, the mobile app and the web app. A change is visible everywhere as soon as it is published, with no double entry and no technical work.

What happens if the connection drops?

expand_more

The kiosk keeps its content locally: it keeps showing the visit when the network weakens or drops, and picks up updates as soon as it is back. A connection is still needed to receive the changes published from the back-office.

Is the kiosk included in the price?

expand_more

The kiosk is included from the Pro plan, at €99/month excluding VAT, together with the mobile app and the attract screen. It is not part of the Essentiel plan, which covers the web and QR codes: a reliable kiosk needs a dedicated app, not a website shown on a tablet. The hardware — tablet or screen — is yours to buy and is not billed by MyInfoMate.
